1. Acceptance

By using BackHike, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

2. Service Description

BackHike is a hiking safety application that provides GPS tracking, SOS alerts, and overdue notifications. It is a safety tool, NOT a replacement for proper hiking preparation, equipment, or emergency services.

3. Disclaimer

BackHike does not guarantee rescue or safety. The app relies on GPS satellites, phone signal, and battery power — all of which may fail in remote areas. Users are responsible for their own safety, proper preparation, and informing others of their plans independently of this app.

4. SOS & Emergency Features

The SOS feature uses your phone's native SMS and calling capabilities. BackHike does not operate an emergency call centre. SOS alerts are sent to your designated contacts and may attempt to dial emergency services (999/112). Success depends on phone signal availability.

You are responsible for your account. One account per person. Do not share your account.

7. Premium

Premium is a one-time purchase via App Store or Google Play. Refunds are handled by Apple/Google per their policies. Premium features are unlocked permanently for the purchasing account.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, BackHike and its developers shall not be liable for any injury, death, loss, or damage arising from use of the app, GPS inaccuracy, failed alerts, or any other app malfunction.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that misuse the service, send false SOS alerts, or violate these terms.

10. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia.
